Audience & Agenda: Scientific American is a privately-owned science publication. It was founded in 1845 and has a highly-esteemed reputation in the scientific community. In 1850, the magazine made a landmark move for American inventors by founding the first brach of the U.S. Patent Agency. Since its establishment, the Agency has patented 100,000 plus inventions. Former and current members and patrons of the Scientific American include famous writers, world leaders, and educated individuals in the fields of economy and industry. It is a prestigious journal that attracts well-educated citizens.
Usefulness: The most valuable part of this article for my research will be the statistics listed in this article. They prove that green jobs have already provided millions of Americans with stable, productive careers. It is nice to have an established framework to rely on when arguing that it is beneficial for the United States Federal Government to promote the green sector.
